2023: Bisi Ilaka Declares Senatorial Ambition• Reveals What Led to Folarin’s Victory in 2019

The immediate past Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Chief Lukman Oyebisi Ilaka has declared his intention to contest in the 2023 Oyo Central Senatorial election.

Ilaka made this known on Saturday while speaking on FRESH FM Political Circuit anchored by ace broadcast journalist, Mayor Isaac and was monitored by GOALPOACHER NEWS correspondent.

Ilaka who is the Ladilu of Oyo Kingdom on had contested in 2011 and 2015 under Accord Party while he contested the 2019 Senatorial election in the Peoples Democratic Party in 2016 and lost to the incumbent Senator Teslimm Folarin by six thousand votes.

The PDP chieftain maintained that Teslim Folarin was able to win the contest by virtue of the APC House of Representatives candidates from Ogooluwa/Suurulere Federal Constituency and Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency that pushed the votes garnered by Folarin up. Ilaka however said in his own case, his votes pushed up the PDP House of Representatives candidates.

Before Ilaka’s appearance on FRESH FM this Saturday, GOAL POACHER NEWS had reliably gathered that Chief Ilaka is the only party member whose ticket is Sure in the PDP aside the Governor who is yet to make his intention about second term known.
He, therefore, urged the PDP to field candidates with electoral values in the next general elections.
