2027: Makinde Possesses Qualities to Vie For Presidency Says Ally, Dare Adeleke
One of the leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Southwest, Prince Dare Adeleke has said Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has all the needed qualities to contest the 2027 presidential election under the opposition party.
Adeleke, while reacting to the statement made by Rabiu Kwankwaso who declared that the former ruling party is dead.
He noted that Makinde’s rise in the political arena and national polity wasn’t connected with the defunct G-5.
The PDP stalwart added that his principal has demonstrated his positive traits in Oyo State and Southwest zone.
“Governor Seyi Makinde possesses the qualities necessary to contest the presidency. He has already demonstrated his positive traits in Oyo state and the South West.
“He is a kind and compassionate human being, embodying the true spirit of Yoruba irredentism.
Unlike Tinubu, who exploited the Yoruba people and cornered all appointments for his Lagos-based cronies, GSM has shown himself to be a true leader.
“Some individuals attribute Makinde’s rise to the G-5 group, but they fail to understand the circumstances that led to its formation. I plan to write an article explaining the reasons behind G-5’s formation.
If our party leadership refuses to yield to constitutional demands, another pressure group will emerge.
“It’s absurd for any zone to consider itself superior to others. Why should President Buhari serve eight years, and then some party leaders advocate for another northerner to lead for eight years? This is unfair to the South.
“While H.E. Atiku deserves to be president, the South will not support another northerner taking the leadership reins.
“Oyo state gave Atiku the highest votes in 2019 because we believed he is a detribalized leader. I urge everyone within the party to think critically and support the right person.”
