Makinde to Unveil State Anti-corruption Agency (OYACA) Next Week
Oyo state Governor Seyi Makinde has disclosed plans to unveil the state anti corruption agency (OYACA) next week with an assurance that his administration would continue to ensure accountability, transparency and prudent management of public trust in the state
The Governor made this known when he received in his office on a courtesy visit the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) and members of its governing council
Reacting to report on ICAN accountability index report that rated the state low in 2017 and 2018, Governor Seyi Makinde explained that his administration had begun charting a new course base on what was met on ground from the previous administration with accountability being sacrosanct
The Governor also promised to consider the request from ICAN appealing that a favourable grade level as entry point for chartered accountant employed to the civil service should be reconsidered
Earlier the president of ICAN, Dame Onome Joy Adewuyi said the Oyo state anti corruption agency functions were in line with the vision of ICAN hinged on accountability, adding that the ICAN accountability index would be a good framework to assist the state in its scoring and rating base on fiscal transparency in line with best practices.
