The Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Youth and Sports Development, Hon Kazeem Bolarinwa has said that Oyo state has become a major player in national football and sports in general because of the vision and ingenuity of Governor Seyi Makinde and his rapid infrastructural development of sports’ facilities in the state which has culminated in the promotion of Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan back to the Nigeria Professional Football League following the recorded against Ekiti United FC on Saturday at the ongoing NNL Super Eight playoffs tournament in Enugu State.
Kazeem noted that the state has recorded giant strides under the leadership of Governor Makinde in the aspect of youth and sports development. He says, “I call him the good Governor of Oyo state because His Excellency has achieved beyond his predecessors in a short span of two years in office”.
” He knows the value of sports to the socio-economic development of Oyo State, and he is applying it appropriately with the right key for the benefits of the people.”
He thanked the Governor for the seriousness he attaches to issues surrounding sports, adding that the State will begin to host several local, national and international competitions.
“We must give kudos to Governor Makinde, he doesn’t joke with sports-related issues and you can all see the result. Kazeem concluded.
