The association of Mogajis (family compound heads in Ibadanland) has sounded a note of warning to one of its members, Mogaji Wale Oladoja over his position on the Iyaloja General of Oyo State.
The Mogajis had on Wednesday affirmed their support for Alhaja Saratu Aduke Konibaje as the Iyaloja General of Oyo State.
The Mogajis position was contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the association, Mogaji Sanusi Akintobi which was made available to newsmen in Ibadan.
Recall that Mogaji Wale Oladoja was a guest on a radio station in the state’s capital yesterday where he distanced himself from the collective decision of all Ibadan Mogajis.
“Well, among all disciples, there must be a Judas. It’s unfortunate baffling that Mogaji Wale Oladoja could allow himself to be used against the collective interest of Ibadan sons and daughters.
“We had our meeting on Wednesday, we took a common position in the interest of Ibadanland, only for one of us to suddenly make a U-turn and went on a Radio Station to pledge his support for another person.
“Our advice for Mogaji Oladoja is to first and foremost redeem his image and settle his beads issue among the people of his community.
“We all saw what he did in Akinyele Local Government and his subsequent suspension by Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lekan Balogun.
Mogaji Sanusi Akintobi however said Alhaja Saratu Aduke Konibaje remains their choice of Ibadan Mogajis adding that any attempt to frustrate her or the position of all Mogajis on this matter will be resisted.
