Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has described Amb. Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja as a leading light and one whose political sagacity has had a stabilising impact on Nigerian politics and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
Amb. Arapaja, who turns 65 on Friday, November 10, 2023, is the former Deputy Governor of Oyo State between 2007 and 2011.
Celebrating the political colossus, Ibarapakan said that the Ibadan-born politician is a political dreadnought and one whose track record of public service is unblemished.
“The name Arapaja is synonymous with integrity, and he has lived up to that reputation ever since his political odyssey began in the 1990s.
“As a two-term local government chairman, former House of Representatives member, Deputy Governor of Oyo State, former Nigerian Ambassador to Jordan and Iran, former PDP Vice-chairman South-West, and now the current National Deputy Chairman South, in all of these political positions, no time in history has Amb. Arapaja failed to uphold the highest standards of integrity and transparency; this out of the many sterling qualities he possesses is worthy of emulation, especially among members of the political class.
“On the occasion of your birthday, I celebrate your many achievements and effectiveness as a leader, with a strong hope that you will never rest on your oars.” Ibarapakan said.
Extolling the celebrant further, the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character disclosed that Amb. Arapaja has contributed immensely to the development of not just Oyo State but Nigeria as a whole, wishing the veteran politician longevity and the strength and wisdom to successfully discharge the onus of the national assignment he currently holds.
“Arapaja’s career has not only been defined by his personal way of life but also by his ability to positively impact the political landscape.
“For so many reasons, in this challenging moment in our political history, there is no time other than now that Amb. Arapaja’s wealth of political experience is needed. He is one of those party men imbued with what it takes to grow a nation, and I am confident that he will not fail to continue to display that role of statesmanship.” Hon. Adepoju expressed.
