Ibadan philanthropist and educationist, Akande Kazeem Babatunde, was part of many others who were awarded honorary doctorate in several disciplines by Icon University of Management Science and Technology.
Akande was awarded a honorary doctorate in Administrative Management and Leadership. The award was a recognition of Akande’s strides in management and leadership.
Akande, who’s the President of Ecolerite Institute for Peace Advancement and chairman of the governing council for Africa Institute for Justice of the Peace has shown great leadership and administrative prowess over the years.
The educationist has managed several educational institutes and sits on a few scholarship board. While speaking at the event, the Vice Chancellor of Icon University congratulated all awardees and charged them to continue to create lasting change in their area of expertise.
In addendum to that, the World Insight Christian Center has also recognized Dr. Akande with their Humanitarian Ambassador award. The award was said to be in recognition of his strides in rendering humanitarian service.
The philanthropist had touched lives in his immediate community and beyond. His humanitarian work border on education, youth empowerment, and peace building.
He is currently facilitating coaching classes for secondary school students preparing for SSCE and UTME across Ibadan. Similarly, several humanitarian endeavours can be traced to Dr. Akande Kazeem Babatunde.
The board of the WICC noted that he was carefully chosen for the award. Even as a Christian organisations, they appreciated the fact that Akande’s humanitarian works has not been influence by religion and he doesn’t operate with religious bias. They commended him and pleaded he continued to support humanity.
Akande himself expressed gratitude for all the recognitions. He said it’s an evidence that people were watching and he committed to continuing his good works and make an impact in the world.
