Oyo is the most peaceful state in Nigeria – Security Chiefs Declare
Security chiefs in Oyo state including the garrison commander of the 2-Division, Nigerian Army, Brig. Gen. Umar Muazu, the Oyo State commissioner of police, CP Adebola Hamzat, the Chairman Amotekun Board, AIG Sikiru Akande (Rtd.) and the Director-General of Operation Burst, Col. Ajibola Ladipo (Rtd.) all of whom belong to the security council of the state said that Oyo state is the most peaceful state in Nigeria.
They disclosed this during their interviews with the Oyo State commissioner for information and civic orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, on the occasion of the handover ceremony of additional new set of operational vehicles to the security agencies in the state by Governor Seyi Makinde.
The governor in his address also promised that not only will he continue to give them facilities to work with, he will equally provide an enabling environment and motivation to sustain Oyo state as the nemesis for criminals.
The security chiefs who appreciated the governor for his unwavering commitment to strengthening the security architecture in the state, pledged to continue to do more than what is expected of them for Oyo state to remain a pacesetter in terms of security.
They assured investors and residents of the state of their dedication to service in ensuring the security of lives and property.
According to Prince Oyelade, the security agencies would have shared over 300 well equipped operational vehicles among themselves in the past four and half years of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.
Amotekun corps has 40 of the vehicles distributed, Operation burst 20, Nigeria Police Force, Oyo State command 20, while other security agencies shared about 15 among themselves.
