Oyo State Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde has admonished Politicians to shun politics of bitterness and work together for the purpose of humanity.

This was as the Oyo State Governor hit out at the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who is yet to reach out to him on the explosion that rocked Bodija Estate, Ibadan.

Makinde said President Bola Tinubu and Peter Obi had reached out to him but Atiku hasn’t.

The Governor gave the admonition while hosting the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, who paid him sympathy visit over the unfortunate explosion incident that occurred at Bodija Ibadan.

In his address governor Seyi Makinde who appreciated Peter Obi for the sympathy visit, stressed that investigation is still on to unravel the perpetrators of the Bodija explosion, noting that the explosion was as a result of illegal miners who stored explosive devices in the environment. His words:

“On behalf of the good people of Oyo state I thank his Excellency, Peter Obi former governor of Anambra State and former presidentail candidate of Labour party.

“I thank you because politics didn’t slip into this. You came here to commissirate with us over the explosion.

“Though inverstgation into the details is still going on, it was simply illegal miners storing explosives in an environment where they shouldn’t be. All the lapses that allow such to happen are being looked into.

“Particularly in I’m grateful the president called me. The three musketeers that went into that election the president has reahed out to me, you have reached out to me but my own party candidate not even a call or a text message.

“I am saying this openly so that our leaders will know that this is a time for polictis, you should have tie for governance, time for humanity.

Earlier in his remarks, Mr Peter Obi commended governor Seyi Makinde for his prompt response to the incident as he charged him to set up a kind of support facility for the victims and ensure proper investigation starts in earnest.

While calling governments to prioritize critical sectors such as education, and pull people out of poverty, Peter Obi also noted that the federal government needed to cut the cost of governance.

In the company of Peter Obi was a popular Social media influencer Aisha Yesufu.
