Updated: Makinde Announces Extension of Wage Award For Workers As Enugu Gov Commissions Road Project in Ibadan

 

Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has extended the State Workers wage award for another Six Months, to further cushion the effect of subsidy removal

The Governor made the disclosure at the official commissioning of the 12. 5km Challenge – ODO Ona Elewe-Elebu Apata Road.

In his address, Governor Seyi Makinde who enumerated various policies and interventions his administration has embarked upon to alleviate the suffering of the masses, said that the state government would continue to meet the expectation of the people of the state.

While naming the road in honor of a former Chairman and founding member of the Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries of Oyo and Osun States, Chief Theophilus Akinyele, Governor Makinde also noted that the newly constructed dual road would drastically reduce transportation stress faced by the people of the area.

Also speaking the guest of Honor, Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, lauded the masses oriented Programmes of governor Seyi Makinde, saying that the road is a testament to the governor’s quest to leave a lasting legacy to humanity.

Earlier in his welcome address, the state Commissioner for Public Works and Transportation, Professor Daud Sangodoyin, noted that the successful completion of the road has enhanced seamless movement of vehicles, goods and services and also serves as a link connecting other states such as Lagos and Ogun States, adding that It also serves has interconnectivity between Mile 110 – Ring Road – Abeokuta Road, and Challenge – Podo Road, Ibadan.

In their various remarks, the Federal
controller of works, Oyo State ENGR. O. M. OLARERIN, (RMRR),a former Oyo state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, ALHAJA KAFILAT OLAYIWOLA, and President General Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, ( CCII) CHIEF NIYI AJEWOLE,
commended the developmental projects the administration had embarked on since it came on board.

The trio who sought for more support of the people for governor Seyi Makinde also admonished the citizens to be law l-abiding.

The event was attended by top government functionaries and people from all works of life.
