Hon. Dhikirulahi Adedeji Stanley Olajide Odidiomo, the distinguished Chairman of the House Committee on ICT and Cyber-security and hardworking member of the federal House of Representatives, Ibadan Northwest/Southwest Federal Constituency, has continued to use his legislative office to address many hiccups that surrounds the communication and satellite industry of Nigeria.

While presiding over an interactive session held with NIGCOMSAT earlier this week by the committee on ICT and Cybersecurity.

He leveraged the need for the communication and satellite system sector of Nigeria to beef up the provision of uninterrupted communication and satellite services without creating more bureaucracy and increased tariffs on Nigerians, especially at this trying period of the current day Nigeria economy.

While speaking, Odidiomo intimated the arrowheads of the industry communication and satellite unit to consider an uninterrupted head-on approach towards solving the backlogs of challenges being faced in that sector by Nigerians.

“Communication remains the oil that drives information circulation in the country without which business and relationships will suffer, there is a need for a more collaborative and strategic approach to be employed to curtail excess challenges which infringe on Nigerian’s right to free, effective and timely access to quality communication enabled by satellite services”

” We cannot afford to, in a bid to ensure satellite services remain close our eyes on the high tariffs they tax Nigerians to pay to access their services, a win-win approach is needful so that we won’t continue to deny Nigerians access to quality satellite-enabled services ”

“As part of our oversight function as legislators, we deem it fit to use this meeting to address the mountain-like challenges in this regard so that Nigerians can be relieved without shutting down the industry’s services and envisaged social and business expectations as well”

The interactive meeting provides avenues for many arrowheads in the satellite and Communication industry to provide answers to many germane questions begging for answers by Nigerians through their representatives in the ICT and Cyber-security sub-committee of the federal House of Representatives headed by the Ibadan born hardworking honorable.
