In order to meet the expectations in the Omituntun 2.0 agenda, the Oyo State Community and Social Development Agency (OYCSDA) has met with representatives of communities benefiting from the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) in Oyo State to guide them towards successful implementation of the projects.

The projects, according to the Chairman of the agency, Hon. Abideen Adetokunbo Adeaga are meant to fulfill the State’s Roadmap to Sustainable Development, towards enriching the living conditions of people in communities across the State.

Adeaga said his agency was ready to meet with the people of the fourteen benefiting communities starting from Monday 18th March, 2024, to intimate them about the process, procedures, guidelines and documentations before the projects will commence.

He stated these at a special meeting held by OYCSDA and representatives of the fourteen communities across Oyo State at the agency’s conference room in Ibadan on Friday.

The fourteen communities were expected to embark on projects relating to education, water and community healthcare construction, to benefit those living in rural and urban communities.

Adetokunbo added that immediately after the communities get their project funding from the agency, they would be expected to procure all the needed materials immediately so as to escape the effects of inflation on the materials’ costs.

“While appreciating God and the Oyo State government, under the leadership of Engr. Seyi Makinde for deeming it fit to pick on your communities for the NG-CARES project, it should be restated that probity, openness and accountability be followed by the members of the community project management committee (CPMC).

“This will help to make the delivery of projects according to time stipulated possible and cut out possibilities of sharp practices that can directly or indirectly affect the projects,” he charged.

The meeting was also attended by the General Manager OYCSDA, Mr Jelili Salau and the other members of the agency’s management staff.

While appreciating the State Governor and OYCSDA, the stakeholders assured that they would prepare grounds for easy take off of the projects.
