Baale Isajin postpones one year coronation anniversary to honor late Oba Lekan Balogun
The Baale of Isajin land Ibadan Egbeda Local Government Area of Oyo State, Baale Kayode Bamiduro after due consultations has announced the postponement of his one year coronation anniversary ceremony to a later date in honor of the late Olubadan of Ibadan land, His Imperial Majesty Oba Dr Mohood Olalekan Ishola Balogun Alli Okunmade II.
In a statement issued in Ibadan, the community Head said apart from the fact that the late Olubadan, Oba Lekan Balogun installed him as Baale in 2023, the late monarch was special to him in many ways.
According to Baale Bamiduro, the late Olubadan took him as his son ever before he became king especially when the Baale was in the media, recalling he had several interviews with him while in NTA Ibadan as a reporter and later Mitv Ibadan as Head of News.
He described Oba Balogun as an epitome of love, humility and kindness who took the exhalted throne of Olubadan to the next level by always willing to assist people at any time that the need arises.
“Though Kabiesi’s reign was short, but it was impactful and unique as physical development could be seen in his two years reign”, the Baale added, saying Oba Lekan Balogun will be sorely missed.
The Baale of Isajin then prayed for the repose of his soul.
The community Head who boasted that Ibadan Obaship succession is the best all over the world, congratulated the next in line to the throne of Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who currently is the Balogun Olubadan of Ibadan land.
He expressed optimism that the in-coming Olubadan will use his wealth of experience to further advance the course of Ibadan land and Oyo State in general as a retired Military officer who participated in the civil war.
