Your Victory Confirms PDP’s Dominance in Ibarapa,’ – Ibarapakan Congratulates Adeleke, Akorede, Councillors-Elect
Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has described the results of yesterday’s local government election held in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North as a testament to the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) dominance in Ibarapa Land and Oyo State as a whole.
Congratulating Hon. Sola Adeleke, Ibarapa Central Chairman-elect, Hon. Lateef Akorede, Ibarapa North Chairman-elect, Hon. Rashidi Babarinde, Ibarapa Central Vice-chairman-elect, Hon. Bisi Ayinde Akande, Ibarapa North Vice-chairman-elect and all the 20 councillors-elect in the two local government areas, Ibarapakan said he didn’t expect anything less than the record-breaking victories recorded by the PDP.
He praised the rigorous campaigns by the party in the buildup to the keenly contented election and the fantastic developmental work the Executive Governor, Engr. Oluwaseyi Makinde, is doing in the state, which, according to him, led to the success of the party.
In a statement on Sunday, April 28, 2024, Ibarapakan congratulated the elected local government officials and enjoined them to be magnanimous in victory.
“While celebrating these victories, ensure that you show humility, respect and kindness towards the opponent or those who may have supported the opposing side. The gesture not only demonstrates sportsmanship and respect for those who may have lost in this election, but it also strengthens our hard-earned democracy,” he urged.
In his congratulatory message, the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character, who also doubles as the Chairman of the Nigeria-Romanian Friendship Group, advised the elected officials to use their victory as a catalyst to advance Governor Makinde’s 2.0 agenda, which has driven Oyo State’s development since 2019.
He appreciated and congratulated members of the PDP, leaders and party executives in the two local government areas on the victory of the party in the federal constituency, saying the outcome of the election was a result of their hard work and commitment.
Hon. (Dr.) Adepoju also thanked residents in the two local government areas and relevant security agencies for maintaining law and order during and after the election.
