Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has declared open a phase of the Olodo bridge for public use by Pedestrians.

According to Prof. Shangodoyin, the move to open the bridge for the Pedestrians was in line with the promise made by the state Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde that people of the state would have access to pass through the bridge by 30th April 2024.

The Commissioner Who hinted that a lane of the bridge which is 40m in length and 12m in breadth can accommodate three vehicles at ago, expressed assurance that a lane would be fully completed and declared open for motorists on 22nd of May 2024 by governor Seyi Makinde.

Prof. Shangodoyin however appealed to the residents of the area to be patient, careful, and maintain their cooperation with the state government.

Some of the Pedestrians who spoke with newsmen, expressed delight on the level of work done so far by the state government, saying that the new feat achieved has really ameliorated their sufferings.

They however charged the contractor to speed up the reconstruction of the Oloodo bridge.
