    Tumultuous Crowd Besiege Egbeda LG Secretariat For Hon Sanda Sikiru’s Swearing-in Reception

    Egbeda Local Government Secretariat became a Mecca of sorts as dignitaries from different walks of life, which include top government functionaries, political leaders, business moguls, traditional rulers converged to witness the reception for the re-elected local government, boss, Hon Sanda Sikiru who was sworn-in.


    The reception for the re-elected council chairman and his vice, Hon Ibrahim Oladebo (Simple), was well-attended, with guests enjoying a feast of traditional delicacies, music, and dance performances.

    While addressing the dignitaries and crowd, Hon Sanda expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde for the opportunity to serve his community in such a vital role.

    He praised the governor’s foresight and vision for the state, emphasising that the Governor Makinde’s sterling leadership has been the catalyst for numerous developments in Oyo State.

    “It is an honour and a privilege to serve under Governor Makinde’s leadership. His dedication to improving the lives of the people of Oyo State is unparalleled.”

    “His commitment to sustainable development and inclusive governance inspires us to do our best. I cannot overstate my gratitude for his trust and support.”

    Assuring the people of the local government, Hon. Sanda promised to dedicate his second term to developing projects and programmes that would improve the livelihoods of Egbeda residents, boost economic activities, and foster greater community engagement.

    He extolled the unwavering support of Otunba Seye Famojuro, PDP leaders and the good people of Egbeda, noting that their continued trust in him was the motivation to come back to work.

    The local government helmsman promised to run an all inclusive government during his second term that will ensure that every sector, religion, tribe, gender, youth and age group get a fair deal.

    Hon. Sanda thanked the people for their patience and prayers, assuring them of an improved administration for the betterment of all, promising to roll out programmes that will empower youths, men and women, local government retirees and other stakeholders.

    Dignitaries at the elaborate reception include: Co-chairman Oyo Elders Council, Elder Wole Oyelese, Hon Olasunkanmi Babalola, Hon Akin Fumilayo (Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development), Hon Olayemi Busari (Executive Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Intra-Party), Pastor Akinade Alamu (Chairman of TESCOM), Mr Joel Ajagbe ( Permanent Secretary, Ministry of local government and Chieftaincy Matters), Labour Party Governorship candidate, Taofeek Akinwale, PMS officials, CAN Chairman, League of Imams and Alfas, market men and women among others.

    Others were, Engr Ojekunle (Oyo Electrification Board), Mr Atolagbe (Director Code of Conduct, Southwest zone), Area Commander, Agodi Division, Comrade Ayo Adeogun (Oyo State NULGE President), Alhaji Ogungbola (Chairman Ogungbola Group of Company), Dr Jimmy Jayeisimi (CEO Finrel Group of Company).
