    Akinyele LG Chairman, Hon Wole Akinleye Inspects Moniya Junction, Orders Micra Drivers to Move to Designated Loading Point

    As part of efforts to bring sanity to Moniya and environs, the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government,  Hon Akinwole Akinleye on Monday ordered commercial taxi drivers to evacuate Moniya Junction.

    Hon Akinyele issued the order after receiving series of complaints from residents over incessant accidents that had claimed lives while others had sustained life threatening injuries.


    According to the Council boss, this move is aimed at bringing sanity to the road and to ensure that incessant accident at the junction is brought to an end.

    A statement made available by his media aide, Ogundipe Miracle reads:

    “Having received series of complaints from residents of Moniya and reports of reoccurring accidents happening on the road, the Executive Chairman ordered the immediate evacuation of Micra taxis from Moniya Junction to an already allocated and safer place for them.

    “The order came with a stern warning that any drivers caught violating this order would face the wrath of the Law.

    “The Divisional police officer was also present at the scene to maintain law and order.”
