In a bid to foster development and efficiency within Oluyole Local Government, the new executive Chairman, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, convened a crucial meeting with top management and junior staff, union representatives, and the entire workforce of the council.

The meeting which held at the council Secretariat in Idi Ayunre, council Secretariat on Monday May 27, also had in attendance, the Vice Chairman and political head of Akorede Local Council Development Area.

Addressing the local government workers, the Acting Head of Local Government Administration (HLA) of Akorede LCDA, while welcoming the executive chairman who just reaumed office officially, pledged the workforce’s support in ensuring smooth governance and administration.

He emphasized the need for adequate motivation through improved welfare and conducive work environments to optimize staff performance.

Expressing gratitude for the steadfast support of Oluyole LG staff towards the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration over the past five years, Olatunji reiterated his commitment to aligning his administration’s agenda with the state’s overarching goals.

He assured that Oluyole would benefit from the replication of flagship programs initiated by Governor Makinde.

Central to Olatunji’s agenda is the enhancement of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and the provision of conducive work environments to bolster staff productivity.

He pledged immediate attention to addressing staff welfare concerns within the first 100 days in office, with a focus on reducing work-related stress and promoting efficiency.

The Chairman also vowed zero tolerance for corruption and docility of workers while promising to recognize and reward dedicated staff through initiatives such as an annual award night starting from December of this year.

He expressed confidence that such incentives would serve as a propeller for increased commitment and productivity among staff.

In addition to plans for infrastructure improvement, including the clearing of bushes around the Secretariat premises and the revitalization of staff amenities such as the canteen and leisure garden, Olatunji announced initiatives to bolster security within the local government.

This includes the establishment of an Amotekun office within the Secretariat premises and the installation of solar lights to fortify the security system.

Amidst the discussions, some of the staff members who spoke expressed their readiness to collaborate with the new administration and emphasized the need for the provision of a staff bus to alleviate transportation challenges faced by workers commuting to work.
