A US based indigene of Ago-Are in Oke Ogun area of Oyo State, Prince Kola A. Adetola, has showered encomiums on His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde for honouring the babalaje of Saki land, Baba Michael Akano Koleoso with the renaming of The Oke Ogun Polytechnic after the Nationalist.

Prince Adetola, in a special digital release to media houses, and personally signed by him, commends Governor Makinde’s foresight in renaming the institution at a time Chief Koleoso is alive, hale and healthy. He says “Governor Makinde’s foresight in renaming the institution during Chief Koleoso’s lifetime breaks the ageold adage that recognition is often delayed until after one’s passing. This bold move not only celebrates Chief Koleoso’s achievements but also serves as a beacon of inspiration for current and future generations. The renaming of The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki is not just a symbolic gesture; it is a testament to Governor Makinde’s commitment to honoring our local heroes and preserving our cultural heritage. By bestowing this honor upon Chief Koleoso, the Governor has reaffirmed the importance of recognizing and celebrating the contributions of our esteemed elders”.

He earlier said that “As a proud native of Oke Ogun, specifically from Ago-Are, the news of Governor Seyi Makinde’s decision to rename The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki after Chief Michael Adeniyi Akano Koleoso fills me with immense pride and joy”.

“This commendable gesture not only honors a remarkable leader but also solidifies the bond between the institution and the rich heritage of our region. The decision to rename the polytechnic after Chief Michael Koleoso, affectionately known as the Babalaje of Saki land, is a fitting tribute to a man whose life exemplified dedication, service, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Chief Koleoso’s contributions to education, politics, and nation-building are undeniable, and it is only fitting that his legacy be forever enshrined in the name of this esteemed institution”.

“Furthermore, this decision serves as a catalyst for positive change in Oke Ogun, inspiring us to strive for academic excellence, community development, and the advancement of our beloved Oyo State. It is a reminder that our collective efforts can lead to transformative outcomes that benefit generations to come”.

” I join my fellow Oke Ogun indigenes in extending heartfelt appreciation to Governor Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde and all stakeholders who supported this initiative”.

“Together, let us continue to uphold the values of excellence, integrity, and commitment to public service that Chief Michael Koleoso embodied throughout his remarkable life”.

“In renaming The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki after Baba Koleoso, had not only honor his legacy but also ensure that his contributions to our community and our state are forever remembered and celebrated”.

“This is a momentous occasion for Oke Ogun, and I am filled with optimism for the bright future that lies ahead”, he affirms.

Prince Kola, one of the sons of Chief Adejumobi Adetola Ade Radio of Saki, concluded by saying “Congratulations to baba wa, Oloye Michael Adeniyi Koleoso”.
