Makinde Has Raised Bar of Good Governance in Oyo, Nigeria — Oyo Housing Corporation Boss, Hon. Omotosho

 

The Executive Chairman of Oyo State Housing Corporation, Hon Ademola Omotosho has declared that the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde has made significant strides in major critical sectors ranging infrastructure, health, security, economy among other developments, transforming the landscape and improving the lives of its citizens.

Hon Omotosho, lauded the Governor’s efforts, highlighting several key achievements that have set new standards for good governance in Southwest and Nigeria at large.

Road Construction and Rehabilitation

One of the most notable areas of progress under Governor Makinde’s administration has been the extensive investment in road infrastructure. Major projects include:
– The 76.7 km Iseyin-Fapote-Ogbomoso Road
– The 65 km Moniya-Ijaiye-Iseyin Road
– The 21 km Airport-Ajia-New Ife Express Road with a spur to Amuloko
– The dualisation of the 12.5 km Challenge-Odo Ona Elewe-Apata Road
– The reconstruction of the 12 km Apete-Awotan-Akufo Road into a rigid pavement road
– The dualisation of the 9.7 km Saki Township Road
– The dualisation of the 7.3 km Agodi Gate-Old Ife-Adegbayi Junction with a spur to Alakia Airport, Ibadan, including an underpass at Onipepeye
– The dualisation of the 7.25 km Idi Ape-Basorun-Akobo-Odogbo Barracks Road
– The expansion of the 5.79 km Oke Adu-Beere-Mapo-Molete Road
– The construction of the 5.5 km Adegbayi Junction-Bus Terminal-Iwo Road Interchange
– The reconstruction of the 5.2 km Gedu-Oroki-Sabo-Asipa Road
– The rehabilitation of the 4.78 km Akingbile-Lagbeja-Ajibode Road
– The reconstruction of the 4.15 km BCJ-Railway-Gbekuba-NIHORT Junction, Ibadan
– The expansion of the 4 km Beere-Alekuso-Oritamerin-Agbeni-Ogunpa-Lebanon Street-Dugbe Road
– The expansion of the 3.26 km Oke Adu Junction-Agodi Gate-Idi Ape Road-Iwo Road Interchange
– The dualisation of the 3.2 km Ibadan Airport Road and adjoining roads
– The rehabilitation of spur roads around Iwo Road Interchange, including the road from Oludare to Bishop Phillips (2 km)
– The dualisation of the 3.1 km Olorunsogo Expressway, Ibadan (ongoing)
– The reconstruction of the 3 km Under G-Stadium-LAUTECH-2nd Gate Road, Ogbomoso
– The reconstruction of the 2.65 km Isaba-Ogundoyin Road and Lanlate Garage Junction Local Government-Eruwa Poly-Oke Ola Junction Road, Eruwa
– The construction/Rehabilitation of the 800m Bishop Court-Bolajoko Road (an addendum to the completed dualisation of the 7.25 km Idi Ape-Basorun-Akobo-Odogbo Barracks Road)
– The construction of the 65m General Gas Flyover
– The rehabilitation of Pastor School, Isokun Road, Oyo Town

These extensive road projects have significantly improved connectivity and accessibility, fostering economic growth and easing the movement of people and goods across the state.

Healthcare Advancements

Speaking further Hon Housing Corporation Chairman declared that Governor Makinde’s administration has also made notable advancements in healthcare, renovating and equipping hospitals, building new healthcare facilities, and establishing a free health mission. These efforts have substantially improved healthcare services for the citizens of Oyo State, ensuring better health outcomes and accessibility to medical care.

Educational Improvements

In the education sector, Makinde’s government has renovated and constructed new schools, equipped with modern facilities, enhancing the learning environment for students. These improvements have raised the standard of education and provided better opportunities for the youth.
