Ibarapakan Mourns Killing of Security Guards at TCN Facility in Igboora, Calls for Calm, Community Vigilance

Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has described the attack on the facility of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) at Igboora, resulting in the deaths of two security guards on duty, as the most unfortunate and sad development that has thrown the people of the community in a state of apprehension and trepidation.

The lawmaker, while expressing grief at the tragedy that hit the community at the TCN facility situated in Igbole, Igboora, in the late hours of Sunday, June 2, 2024, mourned that the heinous act was a disturbing new development since the commencement of the project over a decade ago.

“It is devastating that we are mourning our brave community men who had for many years committed themselves to protecting valuable equipment at the TCN facility in Igbole, Igboora. The perpetrators of this monstrously odious act are enemies of our community that must be fished out regardless of how they conceal themselves from being known.

“In this trying time, my thoughts and prayers are with the families of the slain security guards who met their untimely death in the course of defending one of the region’s capital projects,” Ibarapakan said.

While commiserating with the deceased families, Hon. Adepoju enjoined the community to remain peaceful and law abiding, assuring constituents that necessary authorities are on top gear to bring the perpetrators of the act to book.

He also called on the community to be proactive in reporting suspicious movements of unknown individuals, emphasising the need for collective responsibility in supporting relevant security agencies to safeguard lives and property in the constituency.

He also sent his condolences to the chairman of the local government area, Hon. Olusola Adeleke, pledging his support in the bid to chase out criminal elements from the locality and its environs.
