The Deputy National Chairman (South) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja has expressed deep shock and sadness over the death of Oba Lateef Adebimpe, the Osi Balogun of Ibadanland who died yesterday evening.

In a statement signed by Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja and made available to newsmen through his Personal Assistant, Bamitale Ibrahim, he described Oba Adebimpe’s death as a huge loss to Ibadan land.

Ambassador Arapaja noted that death has denied late Oba Adebimpe the opportunity of being the second person to be crowned the Olubadan of Ibadanland in his family after his late father who was the first Olubadan to wear beaded crown as the Olubadan of Ibadan land.

Amb. Arapaja who was the Deputy Governor of Oyo state and Oluomo of Ibadanland emphasised the late Oba Adebimpe’s unwavering commitment to the development and progress of his community, acknowledging his contributions to the progress of Ibadanland and Oyo State as a whole.

“Oba Adebimpe’s demise is a monumental loss to all of us who had the privilege of knowing him and benefiting from his wise counsel.

I hereby extend my deepest condolences to the family of the late Oba Lateef Adebimpe, the Olubadan in council, Ibadan sons and daughters and the Oyo state government over the unfortunate incident.

He prayed for the repose of Oba Adebimpe’s soul and God to grant all he left behind the fortitude to bear this great loss.
