Pulchra est Pulchra – Fair is Fair

May Allah in His Infinite Mercies blessed the departed soul of Hon. Prince Musliu Adeola Akinremi Jagaban and comfort his family and all of us his admirers. Amen.

The Ibadan North Federal Constituency is now vacant, though not yet declared officially. There is the need for all potent political parties in Ibadan North to dust their armouries to pick out the best weapons suitable for the forthcoming political battle. Best wishes.

Briefly, this bye election remains 2023-2027 class. And since no one had prayed for or expected the sudden death of Prince Akinremi Jagaban, I viewed the race within the range 2023-2027 and not 2027-2031. It does, ipso-facto, mean that only those aspirants who contested the 2023 primaries in their respective parties be allowed to re-contest the bye election in continuation of the 2023 race (my opinion).

    Pulchra est pulchra
    Fair is fair.
Aside the million spent on expression of interest and nomination forms by the last aspirants, the 2023 class, as the tradition, traveled round the Constituency, day and night, with fortune in hands soliciting for delegates’ supports. Homes of many party leaders were also visited with fat brown envelopes. He who partakes in the cooking be allowed to salivate the aroma.

    Pulchra est pulchra
    Fair is fair.
Now that an opportunity for bye election, sadly though, is around, those who started the race should be allowed to cross  the finish line.

It is an absurdity, may I submit, for political parties to nominate candidates outside the 2023 class. Are we saying that none of the last aspirants was qualified in the first instance. That is an indictment on the parties, leaders and Organograms.
May an unknown entity never inherit our labour.

    I come in peace.

Long live Ibadan North Federal Constituency.

Let me have the honour to remain,
    Ashipa Ismaila Osuolale.
