…As Hon Oparinde Pledges Additional ten for each ward in AFIJIO
The Akibio of Ilora land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Stephen Ilufemi Oparinde 11 JP on Tuesday distributed 120 bags of NPK fertilizer to farmers.
The monarch who was represented by the Executive Vice-chairman of AFIJIO local government, Hon Tajudeen Adegoke, said the exercise was part of Oba Oparinde’s social responsibility to his community to boost food production amid high cost of food prices.
The monarch charged farmers to cultivate more land with food and cash crops for them to be able to meet their family and other demands, adding that the free distribution of the fertilizer will go a long way for them to realise their ambitions.
The event was attended by ward chairmen while farmers in the communities were represented by their executives.
The lawmaker representing AFIJIO State Constituency at the Oyo State House of Assembly and son of Ilora Monarch, Hon (Prince) Oladeji Oparinde has pledged and delivered additional ten bags of fertilizer to farmers in all the ten wards of AFIJIO.
Hon Oparinde stated that his goodwill will compliment what His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde and the royal father is doing in agriculture.
The farmers and other stakeholders appreciated His Royal Majesty, Oba Stephen Ilufemi Oparinde 11 and his son, Prince Oladeji Oparinde for coming to their aid at this challenging time in which fertilizer is becoming unbearable for farmers to buy due to price increment.
