Hon. Olusola Adeleke Settles Conflicts Between Two Communities in Ibarapa Central

 

Earlier Today, In the wake of a crisis that erupted yesterday 7th September 2024 between youths in Igbole and Pako communities, Hon. Olusola Adeleke, the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, swiftly intervened to restore peace and stability.

The clashes, which led to the destruction of properties, left several residents in distress.

Hon. Adeleke, accompanied by the entire security agencies—comprising the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Army, Civil Defense, and Agro Ranger,local vigilante arrived at the scene to calm the situation.

He reassured those affected that support would be provided and urged the community not to take the law into their own hands, stressing that such actions would only escalate tensions.

In statement made available by his personal assistant sodiq adesina while addressing the affected community members, Hon. Adeleke expressed deep concern over the damages caused and reassured property owners that they would receive support in due time.

He urged everyone to refrain from taking the law into their own hands, emphasizing that retaliatory actions would only escalate the situation.

Speaking directly to the youths involved in the altercation, Hon. Adeleke made a heartfelt appeal for calm. He reminded them that they are all part of one family and must work together to maintain peace in the area. Additionally, he advised the youths not to obstruct security personnel when they move to apprehend those responsible for the destruction, stressing that it is crucial for law enforcement to carry out their duties without interference for long-term peace to prevail.

Hon. Oladapo Muyiwa, Supervisory Councillor for Works; Hon. Jide Buhari, Supervisory Councillor for Youth and Sports; and Hon. Olaniyan Gbeminiyi, Supervisory Councillor for Mineral Resources also joined Hon. Adeleke at the scene, lending their voices to the call for unity and calm.

Normalcy has since returned to the community, with Hon. Adeleke commending the efforts of community leaders and security agencies for their cooperation in ensuring that order was quickly restored.
