    OYSHMB set for re-accreditation of Physiotherapy unit in all health facilities

    The Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board(OYSHMB) is set for re- accreditation of the Physiotherapy department in all its health facilities in the state so as to improve and enhance good and qualitative health care delivery under the sustainable health care of Engr Oluseyi Makinde to the good people of Oyo state.

    The chairman of the board,Dr Akin Fagbemi expressed the gratitude of the board to the accreditation team led by Dr. Mrs. Olufunke Akanle,the immediate past registrar of Medical Rehabilitation Therapist Board of Nigeria (MRTBN).


    He stressed further that the accreditation exercise is coming at a very good time when the governor of Oyo state is paying so much attention to health care system in the state and the physio unit is also part of the dept assisting the health facilities.The exercise will also help in positioning the board with regards to those that will come for Student Internship and Industrial training in all the facilities.

    He therefore reiterated the commitment of the government of the day in repositioning the health care system in the state especially the on going recruitment exercise into various cadre within the board with the inclusion of Physiotherapist.

    The leader of the accreditation team,Dr Mrs Akanle Olufunke said accreditation is not a witch hunting exercise rather it is a standard control measure to be sure that the practise is in accordance with the lay down standard.

    She said that part of the accreditation exercise is to know whether the hospitals are under one management control or each hospital has its own management.

    The Permanent Secretary in the board,Dr Mrs Anifat Ibraheem appreciated the accreditation team and wish them journey mercy to their various destination anytime they are through with the exercise.

    The accreditation team include Dr. Mrs Akanle Olufunke the immediate past registrar of the Medical Rehabilitation Therapist Board of Nigeria(MRTBN),Dr Oyelese,Head of Physiotherapy dept Obafemi Awolowo University(OAU) Ile-Ife,Dr Oshilaro Director of Physiotherapy department,Alimosho General Hospital,Lagos,Mr Akinrinola and Mr Obafaye the representative of the(MRTBN).
