Group “Omituntun Strikers” Praises Makinde For Saving Oyo Communities From Flood Disaster
An Ibadan Based Socio-political group, Omituntun Strikers has sent commendation letter to the Governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde through the office of the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon Olawale Mogbonjubola, for his foresight in nipping in the bud perennial crisis caused by flooding in the state.
In a press release signed by the state coordinator, Asiwaju Lekan Oluwaji,“the appreciation became necessary having seen some states in the country which experienced flooding leading to humanitarian crises in the affected states.”
He explained further that ” it will be recalled that National Emergency Management Agency and NIMET released the names of states that flooding will affect and Oyo State was among those but due to foresight of Governor Seyi Makinde and competence of the Commissioner for Environment, Hon Olawale Mogbanjubola who swung into action by clearing the drainages across the state metropolis and embarked on chanelization of rivers and streams namely Akinmorin in oyo town, Sunsun in Ogbomoso, Arowomole in Ogbomoso, Ologoro in Iseyin , Idi Ayunre stream in Ibadan, Ayileka stream Odo-ona, Ogberi river Olodo, Ajibode Okeona Ibadan, Kuye stream Apata Ibadan among others that have saved lives and property of Oyo state residents.
Asiwaju Lekan Oluwaji enjoined the people of the state to continue to support the current administration and ensure we join hands with the government so that they can deliver more democratic dividends.
