WORLD TOILET DAY: Dr. OTOPE Honored as WASH Ambassador, Donates Generously
In recognition his tireless efforts to promote clean water, sanitation, and hygiene practices in his community, Hon. Chief (Dr.) Ezekiel Temitope Oladimeji, popularly known as OTOPE, was honored as a WASH Ambassador by the Ona-Ara Local Government Environmental Health Department on World Toilet Day 2024.
Dr. OTOPE received the 2024 special recognition award as WASH Ambassador during an event commemorating World Toilet Day, addressing the global Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) crisis. Sanitarian Popoola Rashidat, Director of Environment/WASH Coordinator in Ona-Ara Local Government, acknowledged Dr. OTOPE’s significant impact in maintaining a disease-free environment.
The event, organized by the Ona-Ara local government through Ministry of Environment in partnership with OYORUWASSA and UNICEF, brought together dignitaries, industry leaders, community, religion and market leaders among others.
Dr. OTOPE was represented by his personal assistant, Hon. Idris Gbedeogun, who expressed gratitude to the organizers for the recognition.
The Head of Environmental Health Department in Ona-Ara Local Government, Sanitarian(Mrs) Popoola Rashidat and Supervisory councilor for Environment Hon. Idris Olapade appreciated Dr. OTOPE’s donation toward the event. Dr. OTOPE’s dedication to promoting hygiene and sanitation practices has earned him this prestigious recognition, reflecting his commitment to building a better disease-free environment.
