Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has donated the sum of one million naira to Igangan community.

Hon. Adepoju made the generous donation in Abeokuta, Ogun State’s capital, on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at a fundraising event for Igangan community organised by Igangan indigenes residing in Ogun State.

Expressing his appreciation to the people of Igangan, one of the five principal towns in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Adepoju thanked the community for their academic feat and for giving the constituency several first-class graduates in the last two academic sessions. He also commended the community for excelling in his series of educational intervention programmes since 2023.

The lawmaker said he would never forget in a hurry the support the people of Igangan and the rest of the four communities in the constituency showed to him in the last election, saying without them, he would not be a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives. He sneered at those who he said were peddling fake news about the votes he received from Igangan ward by ward, saying denigration of human beings does not stop the work of God.

“If we take out the votes I scored in Igangan from my total votes earned, I will not be where I am today. Thank you, Igangan,” he said.

The lawmaker remarked that his words of appreciation would be incomplete if he failed to thank the community for supporting Engr. Seyi Makinde’s led administration since 2019.

The Ibarapa-born politician cum technocrat also highlighted how Igangan has been a significant beneficiary of his employment opportunities in the service of the federal government of Nigeria in the last seventeen months: “Just yesterday, we were able to get a new addition to the growing number of employed youths in our beloved constituency; we will not rest until we see our youths gainfully employed,” Ibarapakan assured constituents.

He promised more dividends of democracy to the people of Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North, calling on all and sundry to work together for the overall development of the constituency.

In attendance at the event were the Asigangan of Igangan Land, HRM Oba Rafiu Olaniyi Adeniyi Ariwoola and eminent indigenes of Igangan community.

Those in the entourage of the federal lawmaker at the event were the Chairman, Ibarapa North LCDA, Hon. Bisi Akande, Special Adviser to Gov. Seyi Makinde on Constituency Matters, Hon. Monsuru Oduola, Hon. Remi Ayoade, several political functionaries, supervisory councilors, ward councillors of both Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Local Government Areas. Chief K.S Olanrele, party leader, Chief Olaoye, block one leader, PDP state exco member Hon. Saubana Oladokun, Special Adviser on Constituency Women Affairs, Hon. Shukharah Abiola, overall women leader and ward women leaders, party leaders from Igangan, Ibarapa North and Central and many others.
