Hon Akinleye Hosts OMASED Team, Says Akinyele LG Ready for Socio Economic Development of Oyo State
The Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon Akinwole Akinleye Yesterday played host to Oyo State Mobilization Agency for Socio-Economic Development, OMASED led by its Director General, Dr Morounkhola Thomas in his office at the Local Government Secretariat, Moniya, Ibadan.
Hon Akinwole Akinleye while addressing the team, showered encomium on the OMASED DG for always making positive impact whenever he has the opportunity to serve. He appreciated the OMASED DG for been a great mentor and leader that he has always looked up to in government.
In his words, he said, “ I am not surprised by the series of achievements and positive impacts you have been able to make in this agency. You have always shown that you are endowed divine wisdom and knowledge which has always made you to excel. This day is a great day for me because It is a day that I have always dreamt of and now, it has come to reality”
“I want to thank you for been a strong pillar of support, a great mentor and a leader that i have always looked up to for a very long time. Immediately you got appointed, I knew you would do great things and I am happy that you have always maintained that great standard.”
In his response, Dr Morounkhola Thomas while explaining the uniqueness of Akinyele LG, expressed confidence in the Hon Akinwole Akinleye Led Government in Akinyele LG. He assured the LG of collaboration and also seek for their cooperation.
The OMASED DG, Dr Morounkhola Thomas, disclosed that the initiative was a brainchild of governor Seyi Makinde who has directed that the agency collaborate with the local government service commission and by extension, the 33 local government areas of the state with the view to recruit and create an office for the operations of social mobilization officers in each LGA who would work directly with relevant departments of the councils.
According to the OMASED DG, the decision to deepen collaboration comes after the realization that effective mobilization was key to achieving sustainable development in rural and urban areas stressing that social mobilization officers would serve as the bridge between government policies and the people.
“I am not surprised at the level of achievements and Success that has been achieved by the Hon Akinwole Akinleye Led Administration because he came well prepared for the task ahead of him. He would have become Chairman long ago before some people conspired against him, But the level of confidence that I have in his leadership, intelligence, integrity and lifestyle, I told him that he will become Executive of Akinyele LG while those who conspired against are alive. Here he is today and my prophecy has come to reality. Baba Akinsola left this Akinyele LG Chairmanship Seat and became Governor, You will also become governor on this journey you have embarked upon”.
“We need to work together. The governor has asked us to work with the local government service commission to recruit social mobilization officers for each local government, and that each officer will be based in your council headquarters. Just find a place for for them to work. They will work hand in hand with your Directorate of Education and Social Services,” Dr Morounkhola said.
While Responding to the OMASED DG, The Akinyele LG Head of Local Government Administration, Dr Busari appreciated the OMASED team for the timely visit, stated that the visit will further assist the Executive Chairman’s bid in ensuring a safer and sustainable environment within the Local Government.
She Affirmed that the Local Government has no excuse than to collaborate effectively with the Agency.
Present at the meeting were the Vice Chairman, Hon Sakiru Akintunde, LG Secretary, Hon Adekunle Kazeem, HLGA, Dr Busari and other Acting HLGAs, Director of Budget, Information Officer Akinkunmi Adedoja amongst others.
