The President of Beulah Adeoye Foundation, Amofin Beulah Adeoye on Monday bagged the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Chapter Award of Excellence.
The legal icon who received the award himself deeply appreciated the union — while emphasizing the importance of the press in the quality of the society.
“The role of the press in bridging the gap and giving relevant information. It is the life-blood of who we are as a society”, he said.
While going further, he appreciated the Government of Oyo State by using the Deputy Governor as a point of contact. In his words “I am proud of this government. I told my team on our way here of the giant strides the State embark on and the modern infrastructures put in place where necessary. It is an indication of a healthy government — and we are particularly happy to support the government as a private and non-profit organization”.
He concluded by appreciating the union for finding him worthy to receive the honor while equally pledging his commitment to the values of the union.
Other awardees are Oyo State Deputy Governor, Barr Bayo Lawal and former speaker of Oyo State, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu.
