Ibadan Funfair Stampede: PDP Chieftain, Otunba Ogunsola Sympathizes With Makinde, Mourns Victims

 

…Cancels Annual Yuletide Mega Party in Oluyole LG

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Otunba Olusina John Ogunsola has mourned the loss of lives following the stampede tragedy in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Recall that 35 persons were confirmed dead with several others injured last Wednesday morning, following a stampede at Islamic School, Bashorun, Ibadan.

In a statement on Sunday, Otunba Ogunsola Sympathized with Governor Seyi Makinde, over the losses.

He noted that the incident could have been avoided with better crowd control measures in place and necessary approvals were sought from the state government.

“I’m deeply pained by the news of the stampede at Islamic School. I understand the pain of losing anyone in death under such horrible circumstances.

” I join the families and government of Oyo State at this grieving moment and feel the pains of those directly affected.”

Meanwhile, Hon Olusina John Ogunsola has announced the cancellation of his annual Boxing Day mega party in Oluyole local government as a mark honour for the dead and empathy for Governor Seyi Makinde.

He however announced that Yuletide items will be made available soon with proper coordination.
