The Executive Chairman of Oyo East local government, Hon Olusola Peter Oluokun has sent his heartfelt congratulations to Prince Akeem Abimbola Owoade on his appointment as new Alaafin designate.
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde earlier today approved the appointment of Prince Owoade as the next Alaafin of Oyo following the demise of Oba Lamidi Adeyemi in 2022.
A statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, said that Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade after thorough consultations and divinations, has been recommended by the Oyomesi and approved by the Governor of Oyo State.
Hon Oluokun described the selection and appointment of the new Alaafin designate as historic and commendable.
“I wish to extend my sincere congratulations to our new Kabiyesi on his selection by the kingmakers and appointment by our amiable leader, Governor Seyi Makinde.
He described Prince Akeem Abimbola Owoade as a true embodiment of the finest qualities of leadership, wisdom, and integrity.
“He has demonstrated a deep commitment to serving his community and his people.”
“We are all fortunate to have such a dedicated and respected Prince to guide us into the future and I am confident that he will bring wisdom, integrity, and vision to the position of Alaafin.”
Hon Oluokun prays that his reign will bring peace, prosperity and unity to the historic Oyo Kingdom.
