    Soun condoles Gov Makinde over brother’s death

    Soun of Ogbomosoland Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of Governor Seyi Makinde over the death of his elder brother, Engr Sunday Makinde, which sad event occurred earlier today.

    Engr Sunday Makinde, according to a younger brother of the governor, Chief Muyiwa Makinde, who is the Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland and Head of Aigbofa family of Oja’ba in Ibadan, passed away in the wee hours of Friday in his residence, aged 65.

    “With a heavy heart, I announce the passage of my older brother, Engr Sunday Makinde, to eternal glory today, Friday 24th of January 2025,” the obituary statement read.

    “His sudden death occurred in his Ibadan residence at 3.20am today, Friday 24th January 2025.

    “He is survived by siblings, among whom is the Executive Governor of Oyo state, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, children and grand children,”

    Oba Olaoye reacting described the death of Engr Makinde as shocking and unfortunate, praying that God will grant the family the fortitude to bear the terrible loss.

    “I received with a heavy heart the sudden death of the brother of His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde, Engr Sunday Makinde, today, Friday January 24th,” Oba Olaoye stated in a press release he personally signed and made available to the press by his Special Assistant on the Media and Community Relations, Rev’d Peter Olaleye.

    “It’s shocking and very unfortunate. Losing a dear one is always a moment of grief. On behalf of the good people of Ogbomoso l condole His Excellency, the immediate and the entire family over the terrible loss.

    “I pray that God will uphold and grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. You have to take heart at a time like this, God will strengthen you to wade through this moment of sorrow and trial.

    “Accept the fact that no leaves fall off a tree without God knowing about it. It is well with your souls.”
