Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has congratulated Assistant Comptroller of Immigration (ACI) Akinsola Akinlabi on his appointment as the new Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service.
Akinlabi’s appointment was announced by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
Congratulating the Ibarapa-born Immigration Officer on Sunday, Hon. Adepoju described AS Akinlabi as a consequential son of Ibarapa Central and a descendant from one of the highly respected families in the locality.
Hon. Adepoju said it is an understatement to say AS Akinlabi will make the nation proud with his appointment considering his track record of academic background and his years of service with NIS spanning almost two decades, coupled with the culture of high professional standards the sons and daughters of Ibarapa are known for in both public and private sectors.
The lawmaker also stressed that the new service PRO to Nigeria Immigration Service has not just made Ibarapa, Oyo State and Nigeria proud but has also demonstrated that indeed a white pap is prepared out of a black pot, maintaining that his national recognition will inspire young generations back home and a number of new employees of the federal government of Nigeria he facilitated job opportunities for in the federal constituency that if they serve the nation with dedication and selflessness, they may also be recognised for their commitment someday.
Hon. Adepoju also beseeched AS Akinlabi, whom he described as a proud alumnus of Igboora High School, to continue to leverage his position to mentor and groom the younger ones from Ibarapa as he has always done, ultimately for the career growth of youth of Ibarapa Land.
He wished the new NIS PRO sound health, wisdom and understanding to carry out the duties that are concomitantly attached to the exalted position effectively.
