The visionary leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde has continuously transformed Oyo State, setting new standards in governance, infrastructure, and public service delivery.

Under his “Omituntun” agenda—a mantra that signifies a fresh breath of progress—every sector of the state has witnessed remarkable advancement.

Among those translating this vision into reality is Hon. Elias Adeojo, the Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Water Corporation, who has been instrumental in revitalizing the state’s water sector and ensuring access to clean and safe water for residents.

When Governor Seyi Makinde appointed Hon. Elias Adeojo to lead the Oyo State Water Corporation, it was a strategic move aimed at breathing new life into the state’s water supply system.

True to the governor’s vision, Hon. Adeojo has taken giant strides to ensure that residents enjoy uninterrupted water supply, a service that had long been neglected in many parts of the state.

One of his major achievements is the restoration of water supply to Ibadan metropolis, particularly areas like Molete, Bode, Labiran, Beyeruka, Eleyele, and Bashorun-Oluwo nla.

These neighborhoods had suffered water scarcity for years due to infrastructural decay, but under his leadership, the taps are flowing again, bringing relief to thousands of households.

Beyond Ibadan, Hon. Adeojo has extended his commitment to Oyo State’s second-largest city, Ogbomoso. The once-abandoned Osupa water reservoir has been revived, now supplying 400,000 gallons of water daily, significantly improving the lives of residents.

This move aligns perfectly with the Omituntun agenda, which prioritizes sustainable development and equitable resource distribution across the state.

While fixing existing problems, Hon. Adeojo is also focused on long-term sustainability. Understanding the need for external funding to bolster the state’s water infrastructure, he has proactively sought international partnerships.

His efforts in securing a €100,000 grant from WaterAid International demonstrate a forward-thinking approach to development.

This funding is expected to enhance water sanitation, hygiene, and pipeline expansion to underserved communities, further solidifying Governor Makinde’s promise of improved public utilities.

Additionally, his engagement with the World Bank for strategic investments in Oyo State’s water sector is another testament to his dedication. By advocating for increased global support, Hon. Adeojo is ensuring that the state remains at the forefront of modern water management, aligning with global best practices and climate-resilient strategies.

It is impossible to discuss Hon. Elias Adeojo’s success without acknowledging the visionary leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde. His Omituntun 2.0 agenda has created an enabling environment for competent leaders like Adeojo to thrive.

The governor’s unwavering commitment to infrastructural development, human capital investment, and economic prosperity has provided the blueprint for success across various sectors, including water management.

From road construction to education, healthcare to agriculture, Governor Makinde’s approach has been holistic, ensuring that every citizen of Oyo State benefits from his administration.

The massive investment in public utilities, including the Water Corporation, underscores his dedication to enhancing the quality of life for all residents.

Hon. Elias Adeojo’s remarkable achievements in the Oyo State Water Corporation are a testament to what is possible when visionary leadership meets competence and dedication. His ability to turn challenges into opportunities aligns perfectly with Governor Makinde’s mission to uplift the state and ensure that Oyo residents enjoy the dividends of democracy.

As water flows once again across towns and communities in Oyo State, it serves as a powerful symbol of the Omituntun vision—freshness, renewal, and transformation. With leaders like Hon. Elias Adeojo driving this agenda, there is no doubt that Oyo State is on an unstoppable path to greatness.

Governor Makinde has set the stage, and Hon. Adeojo is playing his part excellently. Together, they are writing a new chapter in the history of Oyo State—one where every household enjoys clean water, every community experiences growth, and every citizen feels the impact of good governance.
