In a bold and transformative move, the Oyo State Water Corporation, under the astute leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, has embarked on a mission to ensure the provision of potable water across the state.

Among its most recent strides is a strategic collaboration with the revered Aseyin of Iseyin, aimed at delivering a sustainable and reliable water supply to the people of Oke Ogun.

Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration continues to set the pace in infrastructural development, with water provision being a critical focus area.

Unlike previous administrations that neglected water supply projects, Governor Makinde has taken a proactive approach, ensuring that residents in both urban and rural areas have access to clean, safe water.

His administration’s unwavering commitment to public welfare has earned him widespread admiration, as evidenced by the tangible impact of various revitalized water schemes across Oyo State.

Recognizing that a sustainable water supply is fundamental to public health and economic growth, the Makinde-led administration has spearheaded the rehabilitation of 14 water schemes across different zones of the state:

    – Ibadan (3)
    – Oyo (2)
    – Ogbomoso (3)
    – Saki (4)

The Saki Water Supply Scheme, which had been dormant for years, is now operational following the installation of a solar power system by the Federal Government.

This milestone marks a new era of stability in water provision for residents of Saki and its environs.

Another landmark achievement of the administration is the resuscitation of the Osupa Water Reservoir in Ogbomoso, a facility abandoned since 1996.

Under the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde and the meticulous guidance of Hon. Elias Adeojo and his team at the Oyo State Water Corporation, this reservoir now supplies 400,000 gallons of potable water daily to Ogbomoso residents.

This project is a testament to the Makinde administration’s resolve to address long-standing water crises that previous governments overlooked.

In a remarkable move to combat water scarcity in Oke Ogun, the Oyo State Water Corporation has partnered with the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Sefiu Olawale Oyebola Adeyeri III, Ajirotutu I, a highly respected traditional ruler, to drive water supply initiatives in the region.

This collaboration underscores the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, ensuring that local leaders play an active role in development projects.

By leveraging traditional institutions, the government is fostering community ownership of water projects, thereby ensuring their sustainability.

Hon. Elias Adeojo, the visionary chairman of the Oyo State Water Corporation, has played a pivotal role in the corporation’s recent successes.

His leadership has been marked by pragmatism, efficiency, and strategic thinking, ensuring that every project is executed with precision.

From championing community engagement to securing private sector partnerships such as the ongoing collaboration with Nigerian Breweries Ltd. His impact is undeniable.

Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, with Hon. Elias Adeojo at the helm of the Water Corporation, has redefined the standards for effective governance in the water sector.

Hon. Elias Adeojo has also been a vocal advocate for community involvement, urging residents to protect water infrastructure against vandalism.

His proactive approach has fostered a renewed sense of responsibility among the people, ensuring that water projects serve their intended purpose for generations to come.

The efforts of Governor Seyi Makinde have set Oyo State on the path to achieving universal access to potable water.

Through strategic planning, international collaborations, and proactive leadership, the state is addressing decades-long water challenges.

The partnership with the Aseyin of Iseyin for Oke Ogun’s water supply further reinforces the administration’s inclusive and community-driven approach to governance.

With more innovative projects in the pipeline, Oyo residents can rest assured that their right to clean, safe water remains a top priority under this administration.

Indeed, Governor Seyi Makinde’s government has once again demonstrated why it remains a beacon of progressive leadership in Nigeria.
