The executive chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji, who also serves as the Babasale Musulumi of Oluyole, played host to members of the Nasrul-Lahi-il-Fatih Society of Nigeria (NASFAT), the League of Imams, and other distinguished Islamic leaders for a special Iftar gathering.

The well-attended event took place on Wednesday, March 26 at his private residence in Sanyo, Oluyole LG.

The gathering drew prominent clerics, community leaders, and faithful who came together to break their fast in the spirit of unity and brotherhood.

In his brief address, Olatunji reaffirmed his commitment to religious harmony and community development in the Council.

He also emphasized the importance of unity among religious leaders and urged them to continue to promote social cohesion and peace within the society.

“Nigeria is going through some economic challenges at the moment, despite this, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde has ensured that the good people of Oyo state do not feel it adversely.

“This, the governor has done through various lofty economic initiatives and programs specifically targeted at sustaining the quality standard of living in the state.

” In times like these, some people may try to divide us using religion as a bait alongside financial inducement for whatever political reasons but I want to urge the Muslim community especially in Oluyole Local Government that security is everybody’s business.

“If there’s no crack in the wall, a lizard can not go in therefore, we must always remain united in brotherhood and humanity. We must respect people of other faiths and peacefully coexist with them. That’s how an organized society grows.

“In Oluyole local government, as you all know, we are fully committed to sustainable peace and tranquility that will engender economic growth and infrastructural development to the benefit of the good people of this council, and I assure you that we will continue to work tirelessly until our last minute in office.” Olatunji told newsmen.

Earlier, the Chief Imam of Oluyole, Imam Toliat Abdul Azeez, in his opening remarks, lauded Asiwaju Olatunji for organizing such a remarkable gathering, describing it as the first of its kind in Oluyole.

He praised the chairman’s leadership and all inclusive style of administration while highlighting his dedication to the welfare of the people and his proactive approach to governance.

The Iftar gathering also served as an opportunity for prayers, as both NASFAT members and the League of Imams offered special prayers Olatunji’s continued success. They also prayed for divine guidance and greater accomplishments in his leadership journey.
