Pre-Coronation: Celebrations for New Alaafin, Oba Owoade Continue with Key Events (See Link)

The celebrations for the coronation of the new Alaafin, Oba Abimbola Owoade, is still continuing on Tuesday wich featured two major events designed to engage the community and promote cultural heritage.

The day began with a Historic Tree Planting Event, which took place at various sites across Oyo.

The initiative was aimed at enhancing environmental awareness and honour the legacy of the new Alaafin.

Following this, is a Public Lecture and Colloquium (ongoing), to be held at the Federal School of Surveying in Oyo.

Esteemed academics, including Prof. Anthony Asiwaju, Prof. Akin Alao, and Prof. Syan Oyeweso, will present their insights on topics relevant to the community and the significance of the coronation.

These events are part of a series of activities leading up to the main coronation ceremony scheduled for April 5, 2025.
