    Hoop Dreams Club Classics Launches Ibadan City Challenge, Ignites Youth Passion for Basketball

    The Hoop Dreams Club Classics has officially launched the Ibadan City Challenge, a community-based basketball league aimed at promoting youth development and healthy competition.

    In a statement made available to GoalPoacher News, the league which features 8 male teams, required each to include a minimum of 2 players under the age of 18.

    The competition mandates that U18 players play at least 3 minutes per quarter, ensuring their active participation.


    All matches are held at the popular Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan, where teams received a transportation stipend each match day to assist with expenses and encourage attendance.

    Over the past 4 weeks, a total of 17 matches have been played, including the first female match involving 4 registered female teams.

    A finals playoff is scheduled for the top 4 teams at the end of the regular season, with one team set to be crowned the Club Classics champion.

    Additionally, prize money will be awarded to each participating team based on their standings, along with individual awards for exceptional performances.

    The league is meant to positively impact youth players by providing a competitive environment to develop their basketball skills and build confidence.

    In the same vein, it also sought to foster a sense of community among players, coaches, and spectators, strengthening their shared passion for the sport.

    Hoop Dreams Nigeria remains committed to creating a supportive environment for players, with hopes for continued success and growth in the league.
