    Children’s Day: We’ll Continue to Protect, Promote Children’s Rights – Hon Oluokun

    The Executive Chairman of Oyo East Local Government, Hon Oluokun Peter Olusola has celebrated with the children in the council as the world celebrate the year 2025 children’s Day

    The chairman in his children’s Day message on Tuesday 27th May, 2025 said:
    It is with great joy that I welcome our children in Oyo East to this year 2025 Children’s Day Celebration.”

    “I am indeed very delighted to celebrate with you today on a day earmarked to celebrate children all over the world.”

    “Like the saying goes..’Children are the future of all Societies and Nations. Every serious minded nation will therefore take the development of her children with all seriousness.”

    “The responsibility of ensuring that our children are raised to compete favourably with their counterparts world wide has been a major priority for my administration.”

    “So far since the inception of this administration we have promoted series of educational programs, collaborated with State Government, Private company and individual on education development of indigent students in our council in our bid to build a strong and virile community of youths.”

    “As I rejoice with you today let me encourage you to neglect all vices that can bring shame and embarrassment to your parents and to our nation and embrace the virtues of hard work and tenacity of purpose so you can help in repositioning our dear country to an enviable height among the children of the world.
    With determination and a good sense of direction..there is nothing that will be impossible for you to achieve.”

    Hon Oluokun also promised to protect, promote children’s rights. He stated: ” we’ve been doing it before and we will continue to protect and promote children’s Rights which quality education is essential part of it. By the grace of Almighty God, we are going to support this program with scholarship which is going to be contested for”

    In Company of the chairman to the program were: Hon Oyewole Solomon (Deputy leader of the House), Hon Alabi Olarewaju Councillor representing ward 01, Hon Oyewale Kayode (Supervisory Councillor for health), Hon Onifade Ibrahim Olojule (Supervisory Councillor for Works), Hon Tijani Yusuf Zenith (S.A on health) Hon Adeleke Afees Adeniran (S.A Media) Hon Salam kazeem (P.A to the chairman)
