    Olubadan In-Line Traditional Chiefs Express Condolences on Passing of Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin I

    The Olubadan In-Line Traditional Chiefs of Ibadanland have expressed their heartfelt condolences on the passing of His Imperial Majesty Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakuleyin Ige-Olakulehin I, who died on July 7, 2025.

    In a letter dated July 24, 2025, they acknowledged his unwavering dedication to the progress of Ibadanland and his exemplary qualities of integrity, fairness, and compassion in leadership.

    The chiefs emphasised his role as a custodian of the region’s rich history and culture, highlighting his contributions to education, governance, and national development.

    The chiefs, comprised of Oloyes in Ibadan from Jagun to Abese Olubadan and Abese Balogun, conveyed their sorrow and acceptance of this profound loss, recognising that his absence will be felt not only in Ibadanland but throughout the nation.

    They offered prayers for his family, seeking strength during this difficult time, and prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul.

    The letter read in full: “The Olubadan In-Line Traditional Chiefs of Ibadanland express their sincere condolences, with deep sorrow and acceptance of divine will, on the passing of His Imperial Majesty Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin Ige-Olakulehin I, which occurred on July 7, 2025.”

    “As traditional chiefs of Ibadanland, we have collaborated with Baba within the established framework of the city’s traditional administration, and we can attest to his steadfast dedication and commitment to the progress and prosperity of Ibadanland.”

    “His life exemplified integrity, fairness, and compassion in leadership. Baba is not only a custodian of our rich history and culture but also a man of intellect and principle whose contributions extended beyond the palace into education, governance, military and national development.”

    “This will be greatly missed not only in Ibadanland but in the Nation at large. We offer our prayers for the family, seeking strength during this profound loss, and pray for the peaceful repose of his soul.”

    “FOR: The Olubadan In-Line Traditional Chiefs of Ibadanland, Oloye RemiBabalola. Oloye Monsur Arulogun, Bada Balogun of Ibadanland Gbonka Balogun of Ibadanland, Forum Secretary . Forum Publuc Relation Officer,” the letter concluded.
