    COVID-19:Organised Private Sector Donates Mobile X-Ray, Oxygen Concentrator, Others To Oyo State Government

    COVID – 19: CACOVID Donates Mobile X- ray Machine, Oxygen Concentrator, Others to Oyo Govt, to deliver Food items as Palliatives soon.
    The organised private sector under the umbrella of Coalation Against COVID -19 in Nigeria, CACOVID, has donated mobile x-ray machine, portable ultrasound, oxygen concentrator and other essential medical equipment to Oyo state government for smooth off of the coronavirus isolation and treatment centre in Saki, which is under renovation.
    The equipment which were received on behalf of the state by the permanent secretary, ministry of health , Dr. Mufutau Ayoola , member , Oyo State COVID -19 Task Force, Prof. Temitope Alonge alongside other top government officials at the weekend was done to support the state government in its quest to improve on diagnosis and treatment of cases of coronavirus in the state .
    The Group Head, South West, Public Sector Group, Dr. Timothy Arowogun , while responding to questions from journalist shortly after the delivery of the medical equipment at Jericho specialist hospital, Ibadan , said the gesture was part of private sector contribution towards eliminating the disease in the state .
    Dr. Arowogun added that the equipment would be transferred to infectious disease center in Saki in which the state government is currently working on for the center to be properly equipped.
    While appealing to the public to take to the precautions of the virus as announced by various health institutions for safety of individuals,
    Dr. Arowogun hinted that the group would provide food items to the state government which will give to vulnerable group in the state as palliatives.
    ” What you are seeing today is the first segment, the supply of medical equipment, provision of food items for palliative will follow soon.
    Speaking on behalf of Oyo State COVID 19 Task Force, Professor, Temitope Alonge , affirmed that the equipment are key components required for proper management of patients in a severe isolation and treatment centre .
    According to him, ” CACOVID has brought us unique equipment that will add tremendous valve to existing facilities. We have mobile x-ray for chest examination and interpretation, blood warmer , sterelizer , fifty oxygen cylinders, Saki is going to be a big beneficiary ”
    ” Situations like this allow us to add value to ourselves. Before, it was assumed that the banks only collect your money and they didn’t give anything in return ”
    ” This shows that the banks have various means and modalities of supporting government efforts, with this is a welcome idea”
    Other equipment donated by CACOVID included nebulizer, stretcher, apron, biosafety cabinet, kidney disk baby cot amongst others.
