    Former Oyo LG Chairmen, Deputies Meet Makinde, Reaffirm Loyalty to Party, Commitment to Good Governance

    Former Local Government Chairmen and their Vice Chairmen in Oyo State have held a strategic meeting with the Executive Governor of the state, Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde, FNSE reaffirms their loyalty to the ruling party and commitment to the sustenance of good governance and democratic stability in the state.

    The meeting, which was held at the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA) Complex, Fashola, Oyo Town, provided a platform for robust engagement between the governor and the former council leaders.

    The engagement, described as purposeful and strategic, was anchored on shared party ideology, unity, loyalty, and collective responsibility towards the consolidation of effective governance in Oyo State.

    The interactive session, which lasted for about one hour and nineteen minutes, allowed for meaningful dialogue and exchange of views on governance and grassroots development.

    Speaking during the meeting, the former Local Government Chairmen unanimously reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty to the party and expressed total support for the vision and developmental agenda of Governor Makinde, aimed at repositioning Oyo State for sustainable growth, economic prosperity, and improved welfare for its citizens.

    In his response, Governor Makinde reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive and participatory governance, noting that former Local Government Chairmen remain critical stakeholders with vast experience in grassroots administration and democratic consolidation.

    The governor assured the delegation of continuous and broader engagement, stressing that such interactions would help in identifying existing realities and addressing developmental needs across the various Local Government Areas of the state.

    The meeting was facilitated by the Personal Assistant to the Governor, Alhaji Akeem Azeez, and was attended by notable party leaders and government officials, including Chief Bayo Lawal and the Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment, and Cooperatives, Hon. Adeniyi Adebisi, among others.

    Former Local Government Chairmen present at the meeting included Hon. Saheed Arowosaye Adeyemi, Hon. Settle Olaide Popoola, Hon. Gbadamosi Kazeem, Hon. Gbenga Obalowo, Hon. Akanji Kabeer, Hon. Lateef Adediran, Hon. Adedoyin Adeoye, and Hon. Sunday Akindele Ojo.

    Vice Chairmen in attendance were Hon. Raheem Ajibola, Hon. Fasasi Fatai, Hon. Azeez Jimoh, Hon. Oguntona Seun, Hon. Abiona Oyebamiji, Hon. Adegbenjo Samuel, Hon. Saka Abiona, Hon. Ayoade Olatunde, Hon. Funso Kayode, Hon. Biodun Badmos, Hon. Ayandeyi Ayantunde, Hon. Isaac Olajide, Hon. Wahab Kareem, Hon. Sunday Johnson, Hon. Gbadamosi Maruf, Hon. Olasunmi Zynab, Hon. Owolabi Mudasiru, and Hon. Wahab Saka, alongside other party stakeholders and leaders.

    The meeting further strengthened party unity and reaffirmed the collective resolve of stakeholders to continue supporting the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde in delivering people-centred, responsive, and sustainable governance across Oyo State.
