Former Oyo State First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Florence Ajimobi, has dismissed a viral video circulating on social media, insisting it is a fabricated deepfake designed to mislead the public about her stance on the 2027 governorship election.
“The remarks in the video were never made by me. This content is entirely fabricated, and it is designed to mislead the public and create confusion ahead of the 2027 elections.”
The video, which shows Dr. Ajimobi apparently making controversial statements about the PDP-led administration, has been confirmed by digital forensic experts to be AI-generated, with manipulated lip movements and voice.
The former First Lady warned that the video represents the weaponization of artificial intelligence in politics, a growing concern as the country approaches the 2027 election cycle.
She emphasized that such synthetic content can distort public opinion, incite tension, and undermine democratic discourse.
She further urged media houses, security agencies, and the public to verify sources before sharing content, stressing that the proliferation of AI-manipulated videos poses a serious threat to political transparency and accountability.
Dr. Ajimobi reaffirmed her commitment to truth and democratic principles, noting that her office reserves the right to pursue legal action against the creators and distributors of the fraudulent video.
