The Western Zone of ICAN has recently conferred the prestigious Platinum Award for exceptional leadership and professional excellence on Dr Razak Jaiyeola, FCA.
The award was presented to him by the 61st President of ICAN, Mallam Haruna Yahaya, PhD, FCA on behalf of the Western Zone last Friday during the grand finale of the 20th Western Zonal Accountants’ Conference held in Lagos.
Dr. Razak Adeleke Jaiyeola, FCA was honoured with the Platinum Leadership Award, recognising his outstanding professional accomplishments, steadfast integrity, and exemplary support to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Western Zone and the Constituent District Societies
The award reflects a career defined by visionary leadership, enduring professional impact, and remarkable contributions to the growth and evolution of the accounting profession.
Dr Razak Jaiyeola is a Past President of ICAN. He has served meritoriously in and outside Nigeria in several ways including membership of the Professional Accounting Development Advisory Group of IFAC, Council Membership of the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA), Projects Oversight Committee of PAFA, and other regional and local professional bodies.
The awardee has mentored so many Chartered Accountants in the last 50 years up till now. He has also produced four children as Chartered Accountants to justify his passion for the profession.
The event was witnessed by topnotch professionals including three ICAN Past Presidents namely Mr Doyin Owolabi, FCA, Ambassador Dr Comfort Olu Eyitayo, mni, OON, FCA and Chief D.C.S. Alaribe, FCA. It was also witnessed by the Vice President of ICAN, Hajia Queensley Sofuratu Seghosime, FCA, some Council Members, Registrar/Chief Executive, Dr Lanre Olasunkanmi, FCA, Past Zonal Chairmen, Leadership of the Western Zone and Captains of Industry.
The event was equally witnessed by the President of MFP Group Nigeria/MFP Global Services, Dr Prince Oyebade Oyedepo, FCA who is the Pioneer Conference Chairman, Past Zonal Chairman of the Western Zone and a Former Council Member of the Institute. In the Congratulatory message personally signed by the MFP top brass made available to the Press, Dr Razak Jaiyeola was described as a Colossus in Accounting Profession. He described him as a man with vision and exemplary qualities who has distinguished himself in diverse areas particularly ICT.
According to the Anti-Corruption Czar, Dr Razak Jaiyeola has sterling interpersonal attributes worthy of emulation. He was described as being consistent and exceptionally dependable. He has been rendering selfless service to the Western Zone of ICAN since 2007 when the Zone had the first edition of the Conference till date.
The MFP topnotch therefore described the award as well deserved. He appreciated Otunba Tobi Abiola, mni, PhD, FCA, Alhaji Ganiyu Akiode Semiu, FCA and Mr ‘Biodun Adedeji, FCA for their personal and collective roles in identifying the recipient for the award. According to him, the award is capable of motivating other people to strive for excellence and distinction.
