Ramadan/Lent: Alawode Felicitates Christians, Muslims

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode, heartily extends his warm greetings and best wishes to Christians and Muslims as they commence the sacred seasons of Lent and Ramadan, which remarkably begin on the same day this year.

Hon. Alawode describes this rare coincidence as a divine call to unity, peace, love, and collective reflection among the people. He noted that both Lent and Ramadan are periods of deep spiritual devotion marked by fasting, prayer, charity, and self-discipline.

According to him, these sacred observances remind us all of the need for tolerance, compassion, and peaceful coexistence regardless of religious differences.

The council boss urged adherents of both faiths to use this solemn period to pray for Ibadan South East Local Government, Oyo State, and Nigeria at large, especially for sustained peace, progress, and prosperity.

He emphasized that unity remains the bedrock of development and encouraged residents to continue to live together in harmony.

Hon. Alawode further assured the good people of the Local Government of his administration’s continued commitment to inclusive governance, security of lives and property, and the overall well-being of all residents irrespective of religious affiliation.

He prayed that the spiritual exercises of Lent and Ramadan will bring renewed strength, divine blessings, and abundant grace to all faithful.
