It was a moment of joy and celebration across Ibarapa Central Local Government as the Executive Chairman, Hon. Olusola Adeleke, delivered 8 newly constructed boreholes to strategic communities within the council area.

The atmosphere was electrifying with residents expressing overwhelming appreciation for what they described as a life-changing intervention.

The water projects strategically located to serve institutions, markets, religious centres, security agencies and residential communities are designed to improve access to clean and potable water, promote public health and reduce the hardship associated with water scarcity.

To ensure uninterrupted water supply and sustainability of the facilities, the Chairman also provided sets of generators to power the boreholes, guaranteeing steady operation even in the absence of public electricity.

The boreholes were drilled and completed at the following locations:

    Magistrate Court, Pako, Igboora.
    Oja Oba Market, Igboora.
Isale-Ako Community, Great Mother Road, Pako, Igboora.
Ebenezer Baptist Church, Oke Isherin, Igboora.
    Oke Ayo Community, Idere.
    Towobowo Market, Igboora.
    NDLEA Unit Command, Igboora.
    Ikola Celestial Church, Igboora.

Speaking during the commissioning exercise, Hon. Olusola Adeleke described the projects as Phase 1 of a comprehensive water intervention programme that will extend to more communities across Ibarapa Central. He emphasised that access to clean water remains a fundamental necessity and a key component of his administration’s development agenda.

“Our people deserve better living conditions. Clean water is essential to healthy living and we are determined to ensure that our environment is free from preventable diseases caused by poor water supply. This is just the 1st phase; more communities will benefit,” the Chairman stated.

The boreholes were officially commissioned by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. (Dr.) Chief Ademola Obafemi Ojo. In his address, the Commissioner commended Hon. Adeleke for his visionary and people-oriented leadership, noting that the projects reflect a strong commitment to grassroots development.

He further applauded the alignment of the Chairman’s initiatives with the transformative agenda of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde whose administration continues to prioritise meaningful development at the local government level.

Community representatives could not hide their excitement as they expressed gratitude for the intervention. Mr. D.O. Adewole Oluwole, speaking on behalf of the Oke Ayo Community in Idere described the project as a long-awaited relief that would greatly improve the daily lives of residents.

Similarly, Elder Goke Babarinde of the Isale-Ako Community (Great Mother area), Pako, appreciated the Chairman for responding to the pressing needs of the people.

Traders at Oja Oba and Towobowo markets, religious leaders and officials at the NDLEA Unit Command also conveyed their appreciation, noting that the provision of potable water would enhance sanitation, reduce health risks and create a more conducive environment for work and worship.

The widespread jubilation across beneficiary communities reflects the growing confidence in the administration of Hon. Olusola Adeleke, whose commitment to infrastructural development and public welfare continues to impact lives positively.

The successful delivery and commissioning of the 8 boreholes stand as a clear testament to the Chairman’s resolve to provide sustainable solutions, improve environmental health, and elevate the standard of living for the good people of Ibarapa Central Local Government.
