Hon RAD Celebrates Women’s Strength, Urges Greater Investment in Empowerment
The Senior Special Assistant to the Oyo State Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon Ramata Agberemi Dabo RAD, has called for greater support and empowerment of women, describing them as critical drivers of social and national development.
In a message to mark the International Women’s Day, Hon RAD celebrated the resilience, courage and achievements of women around the world, while urging society to invest more in their growth and opportunities.

She noted that the annual celebration was not only a time to honour women but also a reminder of the vital roles they play in families, communities and institutions.
“International Women’s Day is not only a moment of celebration for us, but also a powerful reminder of the invaluable role women play in shaping families, communities and nations,” she said.

Hon RAD highlighted the impact women continue to make across various sectors, noting that from nurturing homes to leading organisations and breaking barriers in different professions, women have consistently demonstrated their capacity to transform society.
“From raising future leaders to breaking barriers in every field, women continue to prove that their impact on society is immeasurable,” she added.
Reflecting on the theme of this year’s celebration,
“Give To Gain”, the governor’s aide stressed that empowering women through education, mentorship, opportunities and leadership would ultimately benefit society as a whole.
“The theme reminds us that when we invest in women through opportunities, respect, mentorship, education and leadership, society as a whole prospers,” she said.
Hon RAD further emphasised that empowering women strengthens families and communities while promoting sustainable development.
“I strongly believe that when women are empowered, families are strengthened, communities become more resilient, and nations move closer to sustainable development,” she stated.
She also paid tribute to women from all walks of life, including mothers, daughters, professionals, entrepreneurs and community leaders, acknowledging their contributions to societal progress.
“Your sacrifices may sometimes go unseen, but your impact is deeply felt. Every day, you rise above challenges, turning obstacles into opportunities and dreams into reality,” she said.
Hon RAD urged stakeholders and society at large to work towards creating an environment where women are consistently supported and respected beyond symbolic celebrations.
“As we celebrate today, I encourage us all to continue building a society where women are not only celebrated for a day, but supported, respected and empowered every single day,” she said.
She concluded with a message of solidarity to women across the globe, noting that empowered women ultimately contribute to a stronger and more progressive world.
“Happy International Women’s Day to every amazing woman making the world a better place. Empowered women empower the world,” she added.
