As we celebrate the Easter season, a period that reminds us of sacrifice, renewal, and hope, it is important that we also reflect on the current state of our great party, the PDP, particularly in Ogbomoso. Easter is not just a celebration; it is a moment to pause, evaluate, and realign with the values that sustain us.

Recent political developments within Ogbomoso PDP are becoming a source of concern. It is not encouraging to hear that some of our party faithful are gradually losing confidence and seeking alternatives. This calls for urgent introspection. We must come together, strengthen our internal bonds, and reassure our members that they are valued, included, and not left behind. Many who laboured tirelessly for the success of the party in both Omituntun 1.0 and 2.0 still carry expectations and hope, and it is only fair that such loyalty is acknowledged and compensated.

There is also a growing need for inclusiveness in governance. Appointments to members must reflect contribution, commitment, and genuine service to the party, not factional alignment. Ogbomoso deserves fair consideration, and such recognition should be structured in a way that promotes unity rather than division. This is a sincere appeal to our leaders, particularly at the state level, to ensure that the distribution of opportunities strengthens the party rather than weakens it.

Furthermore, as we approach party primaries, it is important to emphasize that internal democracy must be upheld. The imposition of candidates or the introduction of automatic tickets in Ogbomoso will do more harm than good. Our people are politically aware sophisticated and engaged, and our leaders deserve the right to choose those who will represent the people. Any attempt to override this process may trigger dissatisfaction and unintended consequences that could affect the party’s chances in future elections.

Party leaders must also become more accessible and communicative. When there is a gap in information, uncertainty grows, and loyalty begins to weaken. Regular engagement with party members, clear direction, and openness will go a long way in restoring confidence and strengthening our structure at the grassroots.

This message is not one of criticism but of concern and responsibility. If we truly desire to win and sustain our dominance in Ogbomoso, then we must act with fairness, listen to the people, and lead with wisdom. The strength of the PDP has always been in its people, let us not lose that.

As we mark this season of renewal, may we find the courage to make the right decisions for the future of our party and our people in Ogbomosoland.
